White Sox MiLB Report: Winston-Salem Dash Begin Series With Victory
White Sox Single-A Advanced affiliate gets series opening victory to put them back in first place as outfield prospect has big game for the team.
Chicago White Sox Single-A Advanced affiliate Winston-Salem Dash continued their strong start to the season with a series opening win on Thursday. In the first game of a four-game series with the Salem Red Sox, the Dash recorded a 9-5 victory.
The Dash were led by Micker Adolfo and Blake Rutherford on Thursday. Rutherford had a big game for Winston-Salem as he went 4-for-5 with four RBIs. Adolfo hit his first home run of the season in the Dash’s win over the Red Sox. Both Adolfo and Rutherford are having solid starts to their 2018 seasons.

Adolfo is currently sporting a slash line of .356/.415/.610 through 15 games for Winston-Salem. Rutherford has a slash line of .404/.442/.553 with seven doubles in 11 games played for the Dash. Both Adolfo and Rutherford have more development ahead of them, but their nice starts to this season should be encouraging for each player.
While the Dash opened their series with a victory, the Kannapolis Intimidators did the same on Thursday. Kannapolis opened their series with the Greenville Drive with a 8-3 victory. The Intimidators recorded 11 hits against Greenville with Craig Dedelow going 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Kannapolis.

The Birmingham Barons of Double-A welcomed back Eloy Jimenez from injury on Thursday. Jimenez, the Sox top prospect, went 0-for-3 with an RBI groundout and a walk for the Barons in their 8-3 loss to the Jackson Generals. Jimenez made his season debut after being delayed due to a mild pectoral strain.
