White Sox MiLB Report: Luis Robert Records Four Hits in Winston-Salem Win

White Sox outfield prospect has career-high four hits for Single-A Winston-Salem on Thursday night in the team’s win over the Frederick Keys.

Chicago White Sox third-ranked prospect Luis Robert had a big night on Thursday for Single-A Advanced Winston-Salem. In the Dash’s 10-8 win over the Frederick Keys, Robert went 4-for-6 with three RBI’s for Winston-Salem.

Robert improved his batting average to .300 with his performance on Thursday for the Dash. While Robert had a big night on Thursday, he wasn’t the only Dash player that performed very well. Gavin Sheets, the Sox 11th ranked prospect hit two home runs for Winston-Salem.

Sheets is currently hitting .270 with four home runs for the Dash. In his last 10 games, Dash is hitting .357 with two home runs and five RBIs. He was able to raise his batting average from .250 to .270 during this span.

The Charlotte Knights also had an offensive explosion on Thursday as they defeated the Gwinnett Stripers 6-5. Matt Skole hit two home runs for Charlotte in their victory and Jose Rondon also contributed with a home run. Eloy Jimenez went 0-for-3 with a walk for the Knights.

Alec Hansen had a rough outing for Double-A Birmingham in the team’s 13-1 loss to the Jackson Generals. Hansen allowed three earned runs and five walks in 3.2 innings pitched for the Barons. The 2016 second-round draft pick has struggled since returning from injury. Hansen has made three starts thus far and has lasted more than 4.2 innings in any outing.
