White Sox MiLB Report: Winston-Salem Stages Impressive Comeback Win

White Sox Single-A Advanced affiliate records 50th win of the season with an impressive comeback victory in front of a record-breaking crowd at home.

Chicago White Sox Single-A Advanced affiliate Winston-Salem Dash staged an impressive comeback win on Wednesday at home. In their contest against the Down East Wood Ducks, the Dash trailed 5-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning.

The Dash would score 14 unanswered runs, starting with three in the fifth inning, to defeat Down East 14-5 in front a record 9,011 fans at BB&T Ballpark. Winston-Salem improved to 50-33 with the win over Down East.

Micker Adolfo hit his 11th home run of the season in the Dash’s comeback win. Ti’Quan Forbes, Laz Rivera, Luis Gonzalez and Zach Remillard each had multi-hit performances at the plate for Winston-Salem on Wednesday.

The Charlotte Knights were able to win their contest on Wednesday against the Durham Bulls, 4-2. Jose Rondon went 2-for-4 for the Knights. Jordan Guerrero made his second start for Charlotte and pitched five innings while allowing just one earned run, two walks and recorded two strikeouts.

Although Charlotte and Winston-Salem were victorious on Wednesday, the Birmingham Barons recorded just four hits in their 6-2 loss to the Chattanooga Lookouts. The Kannapolis Intimidators won their contest against the Hickory Crawdads 4-3. The Intimidators had just five hits but managed to come back against Hickory in the ninth inning after they trailed 3-2.
