White Sox top prospect has another multi-hit game for Triple-A Charlotte in the team’s win on Monday night at home.
White Sox top prospect Eloy Jimenez continues to demolish Triple-A pitching as he went 4-for-4 for the Charlotte Knights in their 3-1 win over the Gwinnett Stripers on Monday. Jimenez was able to record three or more hits for the second consecutive game.
The Sox have been playing better baseball recently, and Jimenez could join the team soon when rosters expand. Although there is a small contingent of Sox fans who foolishly want the team to wait until mid-April 2019 to promote Jimenez, the 21-year-old outfielder appears to be getting closer to making his MLB debut this year.
With his fantastic showing at the plate on Monday, Jimenez improved his batting average to .378 through 49 games with the Knights. Jimenez also owns an OPS of 1.046. In his last 10 games, Jimenez is hitting .538 with six RBIs. It’s only a matter of time before fans see Jimenez in a Sox uniform this season.

Another Sox prospect that could find himself on the team soon, Ian Hamilton, had a solid two-inning relief appearance for the Knights on Monday. Hamilton notched a six-out save for Charlotte and didn’t allow an earned run. The right-handed pitcher recorded two strikeouts in his outing.
Hamilton has 21 saves this season between Double-A Birmingham and Charlotte to go along with a 1.78 ERA. The 2016 11th round draft pick has made a strong case to join the Sox when rosters expand and he could be an important member of the team’s bullpen going forward.
Zack Collins gets the platinum sombrero
The Sox 2016 first-round draft pick had a forgettable night at the plate for the Barons on Monday. Zack Collins had five strikeouts against the Jackson Generals in Birmingham’s 4-3 extra-inning loss at home. Collins is hitting .236 with 15 home runs and 63 RBIs through 117 games with the Barons this season. However, in his last 10 games, Collins is hitting just .135.
Winston-Salem loses in extra innings
The Winston-Salem Dash were defeated in 10 innings 6-5 by the Salem Red Sox. Nick Madrigal had two hits and a walk in the Dash loss at home. Luis Gonzalez and Zach Remillard were the other two Dash players to record two hits on Monday night.
