White Sox: It’s Soxfest week. Here’s a small look at who will be there this year
Soxfest allows fans, players, coaches, and legends to get together to celebrate all things White Sox
This year marks the 27th year of Soxfest, where White Sox fans can get up close and personal with people from their favorite team. Here’s some of the possible highlights at this years event.
For the first time in eight years, World Series manager Ozzie Guillen will be on hand to join the festivities. Most fans have always had a special place in their heart for the former player and manager who brought the White Sox their first World Series championship in 88 years in 2005.

However, since the riff between Guillen and the front office, namely Kenny Williams, he’s been off the invite list since he left the organization in 2011. Guillen will be welcomed loudly I’m sure from the crowd. It’s good to see both sides finally put past issues behind them and finally give Sox fans what they want.
Want to see Hall of Famers? Well, the Sox will have their fair share of them on hand as well. 2019 Hall of Fame inductee Harold Baines joins current Hall of Famers Tim Raines, Carlton Fisk, Frank Thomas and Jim Thome. Legendary two-sport athlete Bo Jackson will also be there.
Of course, it wouldn’t be Soxfest without an appearance from the Hawk! Mercy! Ken ‘Hawk’Harrelson will be there spinning his yarns to anybody that’ll listen.
Current White Sox players scheduled to join the event include fan favorites Daniel Palka, Yolmer Sanchez, Tim Anderson, Jose Abreu, and Yoan Moncada. Still recovering from Tommy John surgery, Michael Kopech will be on hand to talk about his rehab as well.
The excitement this weekend may come from the appearance of quite a few of the Sox highly regarded top prospects. Yep, Eloy Jimenez will be on stage. Last years top draft pick Nick Madrigal will be there. Number two Sox prospect Dylan Cease is scheduled to attend. Big time international signing Luis Robert is gonna be there. Other top prospects include Seby Zavala, Luis Alexander Basabe, Zack Collins and Micker Adolfo.
As of right now, Rick Hahn is not on the schedule, but let’s hope he makes a Manny Machado signing this week and shows up with his new prized acquisition, much to the delight and hysteria of all Sox fans.
This is a great opportunity for fans to get autographs, pictures and have conversations with their favorite Sox players and legends. If you have the means and have a chance, I highly suggest making the trek to the downtown Hilton and experiencing this event. Even without the Machado signing, there is great excitement for the future of White Sox baseball this year.
