Dane Dunning. 78. player. 128. . SP. Chicago White Sox

We have been waiting/hoping to see Dane Dunning for a long time now. He came over to the White Sox in the Adam Eaton trade along with Reynaldo Lopez and Lucas Giolito. It would be really nice if all three of those guys could end up making different impacts with the team. The White Sox got themselves an ace in Giolito and the Nationals won the World Series with Eaton so neither team really lost here.

If Dane Dunning hits, however, that would be really nice for this rotation one day. He has been climbing the ranks of the White Sox Minor League system ever since he came over from Washington. He had Tommy John’s surgery in 2019 but he is back healthy now and ready to go. He has looked very good at times making starts in Spring Training and in the MiLB.

Carlos Rodon’s injury could be the door opening for him to make his White Sox debut. He may have success right away or he could struggle out of the gate but getting him a Major League game could be huge. Rodon hasn’t been all that good anyway before he was hurt again so Dunning can’t be that much of a downgrade. It would be fun to see him join the team and force them to keep him on board when they do.
