The Chicago White Sox are having a lot of fun with these awards their players keep earning.

The Chicago White Sox, on most nights, are a fun team to watch. They are currently in a three-way race with the Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians for first place in the American League Central. It is going to be a dog fight until the very end. They may struggle against the Twins for whatever reason but there is no doubt that they have a chance to make this a very successful season. The MLB continues to reward members of this organization and it means a lot.

Yesterday, the league announced that Luis Robert was the American League “Rookie of the Month” and Jose Abreu was the American League “Player of the Month” for July/August. They were both brilliant in their month of work and helped the White Sox come out of August in a race for the division. You would have to think that both of these guys are in the right in the thick of the race for the award for the whole season (MVP and Rookie of the Year).

This came right after it was announced that Lucas Giolito was the American League “Player of the Week” for the week prior. The week before that, Abreu won the same award. There is a lot of White Sox flavor in these “Player of” awards and it is great to see. It shows that this team has a lot of talent because they have multiple guys who are capable of winning big individual awards and are consistently being acknowledged with accolades like these.

Luis Robert winning the “Rookie of the Month” award means that the White Sox won it in back to back months dating back to last season. Eloy Jimenez won it in September of 2019 which was the last time the award was given out and Robert took it for this past month. Baseball is a team game but seeing all of these guys be acknowledged like this shows that there is so much talent here. Individuals have to come together to be a good team. Now, go win a division and be in the playoffs!
