Gavin Sheets deserves to play for the Chicago White Sox again this season.

The Chicago White Sox have had a lot of help from unlikely sources this season. As we mentioned before, there have been some serious injuries to consequential players this season. That has forced everyone to step up and exceed expectations. One player who has done that for them has been Gavin Sheets.

This kid came into the season with almost no expectations to be a Major League Baseball player but he proved he is worthy. He was so good in AAA so the White Sox gave him a call up a few months ago. He impressed and had some really big hits. One of those hits was a walk-off home run. That was one of the many moments where he showed he belonged in a big-league clubhouse.

Unfortunately, the roster is only so big so he had to go back to AAA as the team got healthier. Now that the rosters are going to be expanded, he deserves to be the first player called up. He can contribute offense, play multiple positions well, and be a good bench piece. He probably won’t play as much as he did when he was up earlier but he could be useful off the bench in more than one way.
