Willson Contreras is someone who could help the White Sox in multiple ways.

The Chicago White Sox needs help in a lot of areas. One of them is leadership. Tony La Russa is a mostly bad manager these days and they only have a few players in the clubhouse that have demonstrated leadership ability.

Willson Contreras provides that. He is absolutely obsessed with winning baseball games and it shows every single time he is on the field. It is obvious that what the Cubs have become bothers him so bad. He does not like losing. Bringing a guy like that to the White Sox would be amazing.

He is also a very good player on an expiring contract. They wouldn’t have to give up all that much for him as he is a rental and the Cubs waited for way too long to trade him. It still would cost something but it wouldn’t be like the Sox had to sell their farm to get him on their team.

The Sox have Yasmani Grandal and Reese McGuire catching this season but Willson Contreras might be an upgrade over both of them at this point. He can also play other positions on defense as well but bringing in his bat is what would really help.

The White Sox have mostly struggled to score runs this season and he provides a huge presence in the middle of any lineup. If he is not extended and put out there on the market, the White Sox should absolutely consider it.
