The Chicago White Sox could try to land more than Carlos Rodon from the Giants.

When it comes to a trade, the Chicago White Sox could be really smart. Despite all of their struggles, they are still within very realistic striking distance of the division lead. Acquiring someone like Carlos Rodon would really help them make that leap.

The Giants also have other players that would make sense for the White Sox in a deal like this. Joc Pederson has been a player that Chicago White Sox fans have wanted for a long time and he would fit in very well with this group.

If he continued what he was doing for most of this season so far with the White Sox, he would be the perfect power threat in the middle of this lineup. With some of the other bats that would surround him, there could be some amusing potential with that lineup.

Of course, a move that lands you both Rodon and Pederson is going to cost a fair price. Norge Vera, Wes Kath, and Sean Burke are all highly touted White Sox prospects that could become good MLB players one day. The Giants may see this as a fair return for potential free agents that they might be selling.

The Giants have to commit to retooling their roster in order for any of this to happen. They have one last series against the lowly Chicago Cubs before the deadline. If that series doesn’t go very well, it could become a possibility.
