The White Sox issued an update for Luis Robert on Tuesday
The Chicago White Sox mostly failed to do anything for themselves ahead of the 2022 MLB Trade Deadline. They traded Reese McGuire to the Boston Red Sox in exchange for Jake Diekman which addresses their need for a left-handed reliever but that was certainly not enough.
They did, however, make a few roster moves that will make fans of the team happy. The most important move that they made was to activate Luis Robert off of the injured list. They confirmed that he was dealing with a virus and he is now fine.
It is a big move for the White Sox because he is their best all-around player. He has the ability to hit the ball hard and far which is something that the White Sox need a lot more of down the stretch. He wasn’t in the lineup for their Tuesday night game but he should play on Wednsday.
That wasn’t the only roster move that the White Sox made either. They added Jake Diekman to the roster which was important as he is going to be a key contributor from the left side of the mound. We can only hope that he comes in and gives them some quality innings down the stretch.
The White Sox did improve their roster a little bit thanks to roster moves.
Jake Burger was also activated from the injured list and sent to AAA. Vince Velasquez (rehabilitation assignment) and Davis Martin (optioned) were also sent to AAA as well so Charlotte is going to be getting somewhat of a boost.
The White Sox also announced that they claimed Tobias Myers off of waivers from the San Francisco Giants. He will report to Charlotte as well.
When Robert gets into the White Sox lineup, the group will be as close to complete as it can get. We have to hope that they can all stay mostly healthy because they could really do some damage if they do.
The White Sox didn’t have the best trade deadline of all time but they still could be one of those teams that catches fire because their guys started playing better. If that happens, they will find themselves in the playoffs.
