The Chicago White Sox continued to dominate the Oakland A’s
The Chicago White Sox have usually seen the trip to the Oakland Coliseum as a house of horrors. It has been a very hard place for them to win no matter where either team lies in the standings. They ignored all of that history and came out to play in this one.
For the third time in this series, the Chicago White Sox earned a big win. This one was a dominant performance as the White Sox took the 10-2 victory. They got what they needed from everyone in this one and it showed on the scoreboard. They had 20 total hits which usually leads to success.
Lance Lynn got the start for the White Sox and he was amazing. He went 6.0 innings where he gave up two runs on three hits and one walk with five strikeouts. He has been the Lance Lynn of old for a couple of months now and it is good to have him back to normal following his injury.
It was another offensive explosion for the White Sox in this one and it was led by Elvis Andrus. In the leadoff spot again, he had two hits and one of them was a big three-run home run. To say he has been brilliant for this team would be an understatement.
The Chicago White Sox are getting what they need from everyone right now.
We have seen Eloy Jimenez dominate over the last few weeks and it is amazing to see. He can change a game unlike anyone in the lineup right now. He had another three hits which included three RBIs. If he can stay healthy, he is going to have an amazing career.
Andrew Vaughn and AJ Pollock might have had the two best nights of anyone as they each had four hits. Pollock had three runs scored while Vaughn had two RBIs. Each of these guys getting hot would make this team even better than they have been.
Everyone has been carrying their own weight lately. All of this stuff is coming together at the right time.
The Cleveland Guardians only lead the White Sox in the division by 1.5 games. The White Sox also now are 2.0 games ahead of the Minnesota Twins for second place.
With a few more wins over the next week, the White Sox can take over first place and stay there. They just need to continue their hot play going into the final few weeks of the season. Anything can happen so buckle up.
Johnny Cueto will be on the mound on Sunday as the White Sox look to sweep these Oakland A’s out of their own building. With a tough end of the season ahead, winning this one would certainly be nice.
