White Sox MiLB Report: Eloy Jimenez Records Multi-Hit Game
White Sox second ranked prospect has second consecutive multi-hit game for Double-A Birmingham, hits third home run with team.
Chicago White Sox second round prospect Eloy Jimenez has gotten off to a hot start with Double-A Birmingham. After being promoted form Single-A Advanced Winston-Salem on Aug. 15, Jimenez has been a solid contributor for the Barons.
On Sunday, Jimenez recorded his second consecutive multi-hit game for Birmingham in a 4-2 loss to the Tennessee Smokies. Jimenez went 3-for-5 with a double and a home run. The home run was the third of the season for Jimenez with the Barons.

Since being promoted to the Barons, Jimenez is hitting .347/.373/.612 in 13 games with a .985 OPS. The Barons finish their 2017 season on Sept. 4, and Jimenez could very well make it hard for the Sox not to have him begin 2018 with Triple-A Charlotte.
As Jimenez recorded his second consecutive game with three hits, Casey Gillaspie had an impressive day at the plate for Charlotte on Sunday. The Sox 13th ranked prospect went 3-for-5 with two doubles for the Knights in a 12-5 victory over the Gwinnett Braves. Gillaspie hasn’t had much success with Charlotte since coming off the 7-day disabled list on Aug. 4.
Gillaspie was acquired via trade from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for relief pitcher Dan Jennings on July 27. However, Gillaspie only had two multi-hit games before Saturday for the Knights. His multi-hit effort on Sunday was his second consecutive game of recording more than one hit at the plate.

The brother of former Sox third baseman Conor Gillaspie could be a candidate for a callup when rosters expand next month, but he will need to keep having solid games through the end of the Knights season. Currently, Gillaspie is batting .241/.330/.456 with four home runs through 22 games with the Knights.
